This position is located at the Personnel Support Activity Detachment (PSD) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

  • Utilizing knowledge of military enlisted ratings to determine eligibility requirements.
  • Advising on eligibility requirements for retirements and separations.
  • Ensuring compliance with established timeliness and accuracy bench marks.
  • Using a variety of office automation hardware and software to handle military personnel functions and file maintenance.
  • Providing customer service in person or via telephone, and completing correspondence (i.e., answering written inquires, preparing letters to obtain missing information, etc.) related to military pay.
  • Handling all customer inquiries with courtesy and tact.

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered.   Your resume is the key means we have for evaluating your skills, knowledge, and abilities, as they relate to this position. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Utilizing and applying knowledge of military personnel rules, regulations, and procedures relating to military programs.
  • Applying knowledge of the format, contents, and uses of military personnel accounts.
  • Coding in automated personnel systems to enter data and correct errors in personnel actions.
  • Communicating orally and in writing to interact with others in complex situations regarding military member entitlements, allowances, and collections.

  • You must have successfully completed 4 years of education above high school at an accredited college or university leading to a bachelors degree, or Bachelors degree

 

OR

 

  • You must have a combination of experience as described above and education as described above which, when combined, is equivalent to 100% of the qualification requirement. The level of the course work must have been equivalent to at least the junior- and senior- year levels of a baccalaureate program.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Generally, current Federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade.  All qualifications and time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and clearly documented in your resume.

     

    Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.
