Job Description
System Administrator
Pay: Up to $70k DOE
A local third party administrator is in search of a Systems Administrator in Honolulu.
Position Summary
Manages file and application servers, PCs, workstations and related systems.
Oversees daily activities related to the desktop support staff.
Manages and controls Company websites.
Works with imaging systems and staff to ensure systems are utilized in the most efficient manner and data integrity is maintained.
Manages networks and associated equipment and contracts to ensure network integrity and security.
Manages and repairs phone, security, voicemail and related systems in conjunction with vendors to ensure proper operation. Coordinates with IS staff and vendors to stay current on changes and improvements to the related systems.
Contributes to ensuring effective system utilization by informing users about
new technological advances, program upgrades, and new methods and procedures.
Ensures maximum possible system availability by establishing and maintaining comprehensive and effective maintenance and upgrade schedules.
Works with supervisors and other employees to develop and maintain high levels of customer service, professionalism, individual skills, and effective team approaches.
Assists in establishing long and short-range goals for databases and other systems, and monitors progress.
Qualifications
Minimum Associates degree in Information Technology, Data Processing, Computer Science, Public/Business Administration or a closely related field, five years of experience in systems administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Microsoft Windows Certification is required.
Knowledge of current computer industry, Internet, e-commerce technologies,
trends, and capabilities is required.
Proven experience with Microsoft Windows 2003, 2008, Exchange 2010 and
Wordpress and/or other web publishing tools.
Proven ability to plan, manage and oversee multi-faceted, complex, multi-phase projects.
Ability to communicate and collaborate with others, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
