Senior Java Engineer is a member of a development team in one of the development units within IT Services. He or she is responsible for playing a role in the design, development, delivery and maintenance of enterprise or local applications or core reusable components.

This individual is able to design enterprise-wide applications framework and has a deep understanding of architecture, enterprise application integration and multi-party application collaboration. The Senior Java Developer is expected to understand the business practices of his or her customers within the business unit and adapt systems solutions to business problems or requirements.

Skills Summary
-Web applications using various technologies including SUN Solaris, Java 2 Enterprise Edition framework, BEA WebLogic server, JSP, Javascript, HTML, XML, SQL, iPlanet and Oracle database.

Required Skills
- Mainframe online applications using Cool:gen, preferably both block mode and GUI. TSO and DB2
- AS/400 online applications using RPG, RPGLE, CL, AS/400 database, standard AS/400 tools
- Easytrieve, Oracle and client/server development experience.
- PC applications using C++, Paradox, Access, Excel, DB2 and DOS batch.

Desired Skills
- Experience in COBOL and JCL in an MVS environment
- Experience in DB/2, Service Oriented Architecture, .NET, COM/DCOM
- RUP & UML or similar software development methodology
- GenTran, HawkEye, Catapult, MPLUS and MS Access
- CVS or equivalent version / source code control tool.

Education
- Bachelors degree (B.A. or B.S) from four-years of college or university education or equivalent technical certification is desirable.
- Five or more years of related work experience is desirable.
