This position is located in the Identification Office, Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.

 

As the Administrative Clerk (OA), your duties and responsibilities include; verification of eligibility and for issuance of ID cards throughout the Pacific region, issuance of ID cards, DEERS, and the effectiveness of customer relations.

· Verify contents of documents prior to entering the information in a data processing system to ensure accuracy.

· Gather information from various sources to prepare recurring reports and correspondence.

· Print system generated applications and enrollment forms to substantiate and document record changes.

· Issue approval documents for authorized personnel/applicants.

· Research applicable rules, regulations, procedures, and requirements in order to provide accurate information to customers.

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered.   Your resume is the key means we have for evaluating your skills, knowledge, and abilities, as they relate to this position. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience processing applicants and reporting changes to personnel records for eligible personnel.

    Or

     

    Successfully completed four years of education above high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite.

     

    Or


    A combination of specialized experience and education that equates to one year of experience. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement for GS-05 grade level equivalency. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal 100 percent.

REQUIREMENTS:

Generally, current Federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade.  All qualifications and time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and clearly documented in your resume.

 

Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.

 

A security clearance is a requirement of this position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a position offer or removal.   If you possess a security clearance, please indicate the level and termination date in your resume.

A qualifies typist is required, 40 words per minute.

Work may require some walking, standing, bending or carrying items such as papers and books.
