Job Description
A client of ours in Honolulu, Hawaii is looking for a Network Administrator for a 2 mont contract position. Qualified candidates will have the following qualifications:Daily Responsibilities:
- Installing, supporting and maintaining new server hardware and software infrastructure
- Install, support and maintain various network switches and router hardware
- Managing email, anti spam and virus protection
- Setting up user accounts, permissions and passwords
- Monitoring network usage and utilization
- Ensure the most cost-effective and efficient use of network routing protocol such as IGRP, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF and RIP
- Suggesting and providing IT solutions to business and management problems
- Ensuring that all IT equipment complies with industry standards
- Analyzing and resolving faults, ranging from a major system crash, routing issues to a forgotten password
- Undertaking routine preventative measures and implementing, maintaining and monitoring network security, particularly if the network connects to the internet
- Configuration and administration of Cisco routers, switches, & firewalls. Analysis of inter and intra office application traffic data
- Configuration and administration of site to site static, dynamic, and GRE VPN tunnels
- Providing training and technical support for users with varying levels of IT knowledge and competence
- Working closely with other departments/organizations and collaborating with other IT staff
- Planning and implementing future IT developments and undertaking project work
- Managing the website and keeping internal networks running
- Monitoring the use of the web by employees
Requirements:
- Experience as a NetworkAdministrator
- High level of proficiency with networking technologies (DNS, DHCP, LANs, MANS, WANS, WINS, etc)
- Familiarity with Microsoft windows architecture and desktop products
- High level understanding of Ethernet, TCP/IP, and Cisco IOS support in an environment that includes Windows, Solaris, Blade Servers, ESX and Hyper-V virtual machines and enterprise SAN Storage
- High level of experience supporting IGRP, EIGRP, BGP, MPLS, OSPF, RIP, DSL, and VPNs
- High level of experienced with Microsoft windows architecture and desktop products
- Demonstrated strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
