Job Description

Area Field ManagerJob Responsibilities - Area Field Manager:

  • Effectively service U-HAUL® rental equipment and dealers at dealerships on an assigned route.
  • Furnish rental equipment, supplies, and instructions necessary to operate a U-Haul dealership.
  • Audit rental records and contracts.
  • Open and close dealers.
  • Prepare activity reports and ensure U-Haul equipment is in good operating condition.
  • Operate service rig and arrange for recovery of lost stolen or abandoned U-Haul equipment.

Required Skills / Attributes:

  • Position requires a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record to operate motor vehicles with both types of transmission (automatic or standard).
  • Dispatching and receiving rental items.
  • Installing hitches on cars and trucks.
  • Automotive/trailer wiring.
  • Storage facilities management.
  • Retail sales.
  • Customer service.
  • Inventory control.
  • Retail open and close operation.
  • A/C, heating and cooling systems (automotive).
  • Auto-body repair.
  • Brakes (anti-lock and/or other).
  • Computers (basic general knowledge).
  • Parts inventory and order processing.
  • Budgeting, Auditing, Management.
  • Marketing, Reservations, Credit & Collection, Telemarketing.
  • Typing.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel (spreadsheets).
