Assistant Production Manager at Honolulu

Job Description

Under the direction of the Production Manager, the key areas of responsibility will be; to ensure that all daily production orders are fulfilled, raw materials received are in good order, finished products are in line with QA standards, and the processing facility is consistently safe, clean and properly sanitized according to Company standards.  The Assistant Production Manager is also required to fully support all food safety initiatives including, but not limited to, Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMPs.)

Job Requirements

  • Oversee all aspects of operations in facility.
  • Monitor all incoming raw materials for appropriate quantity and quality.
  • Review all incoming orders and ensure orders are fulfilled.
  • Communicate frequently with quality assurance technicians to ensure products are meeting standards of consistency, quality, food safety standards and other regulations.
  • Check all processing equipment daily to ensure they are in proper working order and direct any problems to the Repair Shop.
  • Supervise, train, and coach employees so they are able to reach their fullest potential.
  • Continually monitor employees to ensure proper procedures and safety protocols are being followed.
  • Continually scan facility for any potential safety issues and report them to the appropriate department in a timely manner.
  • Manage employees’ schedules effectively to ensure there is sufficient manpower, overtime is kept to a minimum, vacations requests are managed appropriately, etc.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies. 
  • Fully support all company food safety initiatives.
  • Additional duties as necessary and assigned.
