JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:  Coordinates and administers contracts with healthcare insurance providers for Queens Medical Center.  Implements and monitors contracts for compliance; analyzes contracts for financial effectiveness and to make recommendations to maximize cost and quality of care.  Serves as a liaison with third party payors, to promote the services of the Medical Center and improve provider relations.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation/Certification and Licensure:
* Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, or Health Care Administration. 
* Masters degree in related field preferred. 
* Knowledge of contracts, financial analysis methods, accounting principals, and health care delivery systems. 
* Knowledge of requirements specific to government-funded health care program and third party payer reimbursement. 
 
Experience:
* Three years healthcare insurance provider contract negotiations experience in an acute care facility comparable to the Medical Center. 
* Experience to demonstrate ability to work independently and effectively with internal and external personnel at various levels of responsibility.
