Special Assets Officer at Honolulu

Job Description

OVERALL PURPOSE:
Under the direction of the Manager, this position is responsible for negotiating workouts, settlements and commercial loan restructures with customers and/or their attorneys.

Reviews and restructures credit and repayment terms for portfolios of adversely graded medium to large size loans.

Manages the banks relationships with outside attorneys, accountants, and other professionals to insure projects are completed as contracted. Provides own ground transportation or operates a vehicle with a valid drivers license and must be able to travel by air.

Monitors assigned portfolios of adversely graded loans to insure compliance with loan agreements.

Approves renewals or extensions of credits graded substandard or lower within own authority and provides recommendations to next higher authority.

Coordinates with tax, legal, audit and credit/loan policy as directed or required.

Assists in preparation of reports and performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: College degree majoring in business or work experience that demonstrates an understanding accounting and finance. Successful completion of a formal credit training program or equivalent work experience.

Experience: Five or more years commercial lending experience as a relationship manager handling commercial loans of $2,000,000 to $20,000,000 in the middle market or large corporate market.

Technical Skills: Proficient in various computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel. Able to create and use financial modeling techniques.

Other Job Qualifications: Strong negotiation, credit/analytical, interpersonal, oral and writing skills.
