TV Anchor at Honolulu

Job Description

CCTV is currently seeking a TV Anchor to fulfill a 12 month long contract at their headquarters in Beijing, China (relocation will be provided)! This is an exciting opportunity to work for their News Update Program. The ideal candidate is a native English speaker who has a solid background in TV journalism and a spirit for adventure. You will be joining CCTV News at a time of major expansion. Successful candidates need to be great storytellers, have engaging live skills, and be experienced at handling breaking news. Candidates should have a high tolerance for ambiguity and be independent to thrive in a country where they likely dont speak the language.

Responsibilities for the News Anchor:

• Smooth, mature, confident on-air presence with flawless segues
• Ability to carry on a conversation with the viewers
• Ability to find urgency in stories and engage the audience
• Preparation for show and editorial meetings with developed lead story ideas
• Write and edit accurate, concise and compelling copy
• Live shot expertise
• Review reporter copy for accuracy, conversational writing and clarity

Requirements of the News Anchor:

• 5 years of Anchor experience
• Native English speaker
• Flexible, adaptable, approachable. Reputation as a go to person in the news room
• Mentor for up and coming journalist

Other Important information!

• Contract length 12 months, ability to extend if both sides agree
• Annual leave of 30 days
• Relocation: Round trip plane ticket, and limited hotel stay until housing is established
• Salary range will be a MINIMUM of $50,000 will increase based on experience
