Online & Mobile Banking Finance & Operations Manager at Honolulu

Job Description

Under the direction of the Manager, this position is responsible for Financial Management & Analysis, Financial Reporting, Channel Sales Management, Vendor Management, and Operational Implementation for the Internet Department. In addition, the Finance & Operations Manager is responsible for customer experience and staff supervision and development. Responsibilities include evaluating online banking, Internet, Mobile, and online Marketing investment opportunities and current investments and ensuring the successful implementation and continuous improvement of selected investments to strengthen the Banks position in the marketplace. Ensures business units compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act. In addition, this position is responsible for serving as the Excellence in Sales/Service (ESS) champion for the unit. This includes planning, executing, monitoring and measuring the service process.


Financial Management
  • Performs Net Present Value and financial modeling to demonstrate the economic contribution of investments in online banking services, including price sensitivity, revenue forecasting, gross margin, contribution margin, break-even analysis and other metrics. This applies to current and new products & services under financial evaluation.
  • Manages customer, product, and market data collection and analysis to manage the banking business through online systems.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and presents financial models, pro formas, and financial management presentations
Operational Management
  • Provides system support with direct oversight over systems upgrades and conversions or enhancements.
  • Validates the integrity of system changes and communicates with end-users. Works closely with service providers to implement new product and improve existing products to meet Bank of Hawaii business objectives and strategies.
  • Must be effective at obtaining the support of internal groups such as Legal, Compliance, Risk, Information Protection, Support and Business Units to ensure the successful implementation and continuous improvement of the online banking systems.
  • Ensures the compliance of products to legal, regulatory and internal standards. Also responsible for working effectively with different stakeholders to ensure timely and successful implementation of initiatives.
  • Oversees initiatives to streamline processes and reduce associated product costs
Channel Sales Management
  • Develops and implements plans to acquire new customers online through the online account creation (OAC) process and adoption of online banking services in a competitive marketplace, with a focus on overall online Sales management, e.g., management of a Sales funnel and Enrollment funnel.
  • Provides product training to a wide group of constituencies.
  • Requires occasional inter-island travel. Proactively gathers and maintains market intelligence on current and pending competitive offerings from both Bank and non-Bank competitors to develop action plans to improve the Banks competitive position
Vendor Management
  • Strictly manages vendor performance, contracts, expenses, and the vendor product road map.
  • Aligns and influences vendor product development with Bank of Hawaiis Internet & mobile strategy.
  • Works closely with all vendors, including on-going benchmarking of vendors client banks to improve processes and understand how to position Bank of Hawaii in the marketplace as a leader
Staff Management
  • Responsible for the management of all Finance and Operations staff in the Internet Department including staffing and scheduling, compensation, performance management, training and development.
  • Goal is to attract, retain and motivate the team to achieve management business objectives and maintain a favorable employee relations climate.
  • Responsible for the timely and effective management of Human Resources forms and documents relevant to immediate staff

Job Requirements

Education:
  • Four year college degree from an accredited educational institution or equivalent work experience

Experience:
  • Minimum 8-10 years related work experience in Financial Management and Operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and present Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Break-even Analyses, and other Return-on-Investment methods to lead business planning efforts based on financial review. Experience developing financial analyses and controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce financial and operations reports, perform analysis, and model financial and operational impact based on different scenarios to achieve business objectives.
  • Experience managing complex and multiple projects, vendors, and staff and directing operational implementation and doing field work in project implementation with a track record of meeting deadlines and budgets.
  • Experience working in a sales environment that uses sales funnel tracking to manage efforts and competitive intelligence gathering to develop competitive action plans

Technical Skills:
  • Ability to use a personal computer and is proficient on Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Internet Explorer, Word ,Excel, and Access or similar relational database product.
  • Relational database knowledge, strong spreadsheet proficiency and analytical skill-set.
  • Ability to develop with minimal direction and implement operational plans within demanding deadlines

  • Demonstrated communication, presentation, inter-personal and analytic skills.
  • Ability to present quantitative information in a manner understandable to a wide audience.
  • Ability to develop contingency plans to keep project moving on aggressive timelines.
  • Self-starter who requires minimal supervision with the ability to work across multiple departments and divisions and external service providers to implement and generate support for new products to meet business objectives and implement process changes to improve efficiency and cost control.
  • Must demonstrate a willingness and capability to do field work and work directly with line staff to develop and document processes and guidelines. i.e., must be able to perform in both a manager and direct contributor capacity
