Job Description
Position OverviewThe Physical Security Manager is responsible for the assessment of physical security conditions, implementation of new protection services and systems and the supervision of existing electronic systems and uniformed contract officers deployed by Corporate Security to protect Bank of Hawaii facilities, operations and assets. Responsibilities include the development and implementation of procedures for staff and the uniformed contract security officers that report to Corporate Security, the design, acquisition, installation, maintenance and invoice verification for security devices and systems such as card access controls and the management of the central alarm center that monitors Bank of Hawaii alarms. In addition, this position is responsible for serving as the Excellence in Sales/Service (ESS) champion for the unit. This includes planning, executing, monitoring and measuring the service process.
Position Responsibilities
Operation Center Management
Manages and maintains application recovery plans for the electronic systems (GMS Pacom, IRIMS, Ki4, AcTrack, etc) located in the Security Operations Center and similar centers at the Financial Plaza of the Pacific, Hale oKapolei, Airport Financial Center facilities and the Corporate Security Office.
Provides physical design input and reviews new construction projects and remodel plans for compliance with security program standards, regulatory requirements and compatibility with existing operations.
Prepares purchase orders and capital budget requests, verifies service invoices, directs and supervises the installation of security devices and equipment and arranges for maintenance of security equipment as required.
Relationship Management
Develops operational procedures, supervises security coordinator staff and oversees contracts for uniformed staff where applicable and that are assigned to the 24/7 security centers, and is subject to recall 24 hours per day. Responsible for the management of all employees in the section including staffing and scheduling, compensation, performance management, training and development. Goal is to attract retain and motivate the team to achieve management business objectives and maintain a favorable employee relations climate. Responsible for the timely and effective management of Human Resources forms and documents relevant to immediate staff.
Equipment & Facilities Maintenance
Conducts field inspections of Bank of Hawaii facilities and operations when necessary to assess the security posture and makes recommendations regarding physical protection systems.
Conducts new security equipment research and analyses to determine the appropriateness and applicability of new technology.
Job Requirements
The qualified applicant for the Physical Security Manager position meets the following basic qualifications:- High school diploma and some work towards an associate degree.
- 5+ years of working experience with 3 years experience in the installation and/or maintenance of electronic alarm and/or video surveillance systems.
- Advanced capabilities on the operation and programming of computer equipment associated with alarm detection and monitoring systems required.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with both internal and external customers in English.
- The ability to obtain a passport for travel in the Pacific countries where Bank of Hawaii conducts business is necessary.
- May be required to travel by air to areas outside of Hawaii as necessary.
