Job Description

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Branch Manager, the role and responsibility of the Personal Banking Officer is to attract, expand and retain profitable relationships by offering value in recommending the right products and services to achieve the clients financial goals. Conducts sales and relationship management activities utilizing excellence in Sales/Service (ESS) disciplines and behaviors.

Position Responsibilities

Building Relationships
Services an assigned portfolio of approximately 200 top tier consumer clients focusing on retention and building/deepening relationships. Maintains and sells financial services to the consumers by addressing both long-term and short-term goals through profiling. Executes call program and maintains an active relationship with all top tier clients and clients of influence.

Sales Management
Identifies and secures new high and/or potentially high value consumer clients. Networks in the community and market area for prospecting purposes and to establish new referral sources. Refers clients to subject matter experts in the organization for cross sell opportunities. Actively tracks sales pipeline. Leverages support units or alternative delivery channels to match the servicing needs of the client. Must be able to provide own transportation and ability to commute and arrive at intended destination in a timely manner and/or as required.

Customer Service
Works closely with branch staff to provide assistance to walk-in clients for sales and servicing requests. Serves as the secondary officer for relationships assigned to the Branch Manager and/or Regional Manager. Actively monitors customer satisfaction and makes continuous improvements. Supports the community through involvement in professional associations and community organizations.

Regulation Management
Keeps informed of current bank policies, procedures, federal laws and regulations as well as maintains strong working knowledge of all new products, programs and sales promotions.

Job Requirements

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT: Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry. If not yet registered, registration to be completed and accepted no later than 30 days from employment or transfer date. If not registered and accepted, employment may be ended.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • College degree, preferably with a major in business or related area, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years in sales, marketing and service experience with consumer or business clients in a financial services industry.
  • Participates in community activities.
  • Demonstrated record of individual sales/financial goal achievement.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated personal computer skills; experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.
  • Demonstrated understanding of consumer finances.
  • Requires use of a personal computer, customer information applications, and other platform automation and standard office equipment (typewriter, fax, copier, calculator, telephone, etc.).
  • Lifts, carries, moves, transports files of up to 10 lbs
