A Commercial Electrician installs all electrical portions of commercial solar electric installations in a safe, high quality and efficient installation manner.

Position Responsibilities:

Install the electrical section of solar electric systems. This includes all conduit racking and conduit installation above and below ground; pad layouts; electrical equipment installation; roof loading electrical materials; wire pulling, dressing, and terminating; and DC string configuring.

Communicate to the General Foreman, Site Superintendant or Construction Manager potential problems encountered during construction that would affect the schedule or require added materials to be procured.

Job Requirements

High School or equivalent

Plus 4 years ofcommercialelectrical experience

Required certifications/licenses:

o NABCEP certification

o Journeymancertification

Physically able to perform all tasks related to installation

Knowledge of electrical and general construction, and NEC codes

Physically able to perform all tasks related to installation

Maintain a high attention to detail and quality

Work at heights and use personal protective equipment

Heavy physical effort (usually lifting/moving up to 100 pounds)

o Walking

o Prolonged standing

o Climbing of stairs, ladders and/or scaffoldsCarrying loads up and down stairs

o Reaching and/or grasping

o Stooping, kneeling, bending, crawling and crouching

o Carrying, pushing and/or pulling

Must work outdoors in all weather conditions

Exposure to noisy or dusty conditions

Exposure to chemicals and solvents

Good vision and hearing

Exposure to mechanical, electrical and/or other hazards

Final candidates must have valid drivers license, acceptable driving record and background check, and clean drug testresults.

Qualifications:Must have background in underground conduit.Must have background in overhead EMT and Rigid conduit.Must have background with cable tray.Must have adequate knowledge of grounding.Must have adequate knowledge of Megohmeter, Multimeter, Phase Rotation Meter.Preferred Additional Qualifications:Adequate Knowledge in DC circuitry, battery banks and solar modules.Adequate knowledge in PV Array testing equipment such as IV Curve Tracer, Irradiance meter, tilt angle, PV Array analysis tools.6 months of solar array experience or more.
