Hospitalist PhysicianProvides in-patient medicine services to Queens Medical Center patients through direct patient care, and teaching and supervision of students and residents from the John A. Burns School of Medicine and assigned residents from other programs. Works as a full time Hospitalist covering the various programs services.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Clinical:* Provides in-patient medical services including admissions, consultations, follow up care, and crisis management to QMC patients* Teaches and supervises students and residents from the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine and assigned residents from other programs* Serves as a consultant to Bed Control for questions of appropriateness of hospitalization at QMC* Provides consultative services for psychiatric inpatients on KekelaSafety:* Maintains and promotes a work environment that provides maximum safety and health and encourages safety awareness. Reports unsafe conditions and injuries/illnesses and incidents in a timely and proper manner. Performs duties in accordance with safety and health rules and standards and uses safe work techniques.Other Duties:* Supports the philosophy and objectives of the Medical Center and assigned department and demonstrates a commitment to overall organizational success.* Performs duties and demonstrates behaviors appropriate to the Medical Centers core values of compassion, aloha, respect, and excellence and fosters superior customer service.* Complies with hospital policies and procedures, regulatory agencies and institutional and operating systems, including Corporate Compliance policies and codePerformance Requirements:* Knowledge of State, Federal and other regulatory requirements related to the provision of services* Ability to communicate effectively both rally and in writing* Ability to interpret and apply guidelines, procedures and regulatory requirements and apply them into appropriate operational policies and procedures* Ability to function in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment with multiple priorities, affiliations and administrative structuresMinimum Qualifications:Education/Certification and Licensure:* Graduate of an accredited School of Medicine or EC FMG certification* Board certified or board qualified in Internal Medicine* Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Hawaii* BLS and ACLS certificationExperience:* Member of the medical staff of the Medical Center* Qualified for an appointment on the faculty of the University of Hawaii John A.
