Job Description
Japanese Director of Sales
Pay: up to $75k DOE
The Japanese Director of Sales is responsible for making sure the hotel reaches its yearly revenue forecast and the promotion of the hotel to all possible clients.
Essential Functions:
Must speak, read, and write Japanese.
Senior sales manager in charge of all sales activities, departments and personnel involved in Sales and Marketing for the Company.
Provides leadership to the day-to-day operations of the reservations department, while maintaining focus on the companys strategic goals.
Analyze sales statistics to determine business growth potential.
Establishes performance goals in relations to revenue forecast for all reservations department employees, and monitors performance on a continual basis. Must control the yield management and wholesale agents blocks.
Develops, or participates with the Senior Staff, in the development of the Strategic Marketing Plan for the Company.
Directs department(s) to achieve objectives established in the Companys Strategic Plan.
Coordinates sales operations with all other departments/divisions of the Company.
Develops and/or maintains and improves business relations with all agents of the Company.
Seeks out and targets new customers and new sales opportunities, initiates action plan to approach and secure new business for the Company.
When not on sales calls responsible for assisting the reservations department.
Yield Management: Oversee the overall aspect of Yield Management.
Non-Essential Functions
The Director of Sales is responsible for maintaining the hotel to its highest degree in order to bring in as much sales as possible. The up-keeping of hotel rooms, guest service, common areas, restaurants, etc. must all be according to acceptable standards by our guests.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelors degree in a business related field. Minimum of 5 years experience in a sales management capacity in the hotel industry. Must have good understanding of the highly competitive hotel market and ideas on growth and innovation. Must be strong in guest relations. Able to independently and work with all departments to achieve sales forecast.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Director of Sales is responsible for maintaining the reservations goals and responsibilities. The Director of Sales is responsible for making work conditions enjoyable, safe, and challenging for all personnel.
The Director of Sales must be team oriented to be able to work with all departments on creating the best possible product. Must have strong guest relation skills and able to multi-task.
Minimum qualifications for the Director of Sales include a college degree as well as three (5) years management or supervisory experience in the Hotel/Travel Industry. Experience in the sales in the hotel industry is preferred.
