Manufacturing Maintenance Technician at Waipahu

Job Description

Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facilitiesRepair all production equipment as neededUgrade areas with new equiment/technology.Principal AccountabilitiesAssist in maintaining facility and equipment in a safe and operational state of readiness at all times, in order to meet daily production requirement.Identify report and correct any maintenance problems immediately in areas such as electricity, steam, water, hoses, and hydraulics and valve components in accordance with established policy guidelines.Maintain maintenance equipment, department and tools in a safe and sanitary condition, in addition to, ensuring all equipment serviced is left in a sanitary and safe condition with all guards and safety devices in a place and properly fastened.Contribute to the production of a consistent and food safe quality product through maintaining and updating facility-engineering practices through the Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief or Engineers.Develop an understanding of how the bakery process equipment should work.Facilitate open communication with fellow mechanics, supervisors and other departments to ensure that all equipment problems are handled on a timely basis.Develop and maintain an acute understanding of bun production, fermentation and new developments in equipment maintenance and design.Have basic skills in PLC troubleshooting and programming.Have basic knowledge of welding, electricity, refrigeration, pneumatics, steam and gear reducers.

Basic Qualifications18 yrs or olderPass the drug testPass the background checkKnowledge of pneumaticsKnowledge of power transmission Required Experience HELPFUL EXPERIENCE:Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns. (i.e. pinpointing and repairing problems associated with manufacturing line breakdowns)Working with pneumatics, i.e.;solenoids, cylinders, diverters or motor brakes and reading schematics and using for troubleshooting in manufacturing.Working with electrical systems, low and medium voltages, VFD experiencem, motor testing, troubleshooting, panels in manufacturing.Working with Programmable Logic Controllers - PLC (understanding instructions, editing documentation, and/or navigation for A-B SLC-500).Performing preventative maintenanceand conducting computerized prenentative maintenance checks.Line manufacturing support sustems(air compressors and boilers).Conveyors(belts, chains, bearings, sensors, motor/speed control/VFDs).
