Synopsis

EF International Language Centers is looking for entrepreneurial leaders to oversee the quality, growth and profitability in several schools across the nation. EF is the market leader in a growing industry at the crossroads of education and travel. The School Director oversees all aspects of school management from student welfare to academic coordination to housing and social activities. The hallmarks of success in this role are passion, autonomy, and attention to detail.

Role

The School Director has full operational responsibility for the success of the school. This requires:

  • Setting a strategic vision for the school and guiding staff and faculty towards that vision
  • Managing approximately a $2-4 million yearly budget
  • Strong ability to recruit, train, and motivate a staff and faculty of 15-50
  • Relentless focus on customer service and quality academic standards
  • Analyzing and understanding known cost drivers to ensure profitability and student happiness
  • Negotiating aggressively with major vendors and service providers
  • Communicating consistently with our network of overseas sales offices

Job Requirements

Successful candidates must have substantial team leadership experience in the service sector. Experience in the hospitality industry a strong plus. In addition, candidate must have:

  • 2-3 years of operational and staff management experience
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • An ability to think and react quickly to daily surprises
  • Innate analytical skills in budgeting and spatial planning
  • A positive attitude, sense of humor, and empathy for others
  • Comfort with a fast paced and highly kinetic environment
  • A strong willingness and desire to take charge during emergencies
  • International experience preferred
