Position number 74756, University of Hawaii Maui College, 9-month, tenure track. Duties: This position will be primarily responsible for teaching lower division and upper division courses in the Sustainable Science Management (SSM) program, which may require expertise in energy, water, natural systems, policy processes, engineering, island issues and other fields; all in the interdisciplinary context which defines contemporary sustainability education approaches, continuing development of the SSM four year BAS degree program, development of new curriculum, outcomes and assessment strategies for courses, service-learning/internship opportunities, advising and counseling students, and assisting in campus-related activities, participating in faculty/ admin- istrative committees, community service, and in-service training, maint- aining an approved program of professional development and applied research in the field Minimum qualifications: Assistant Professor, CC: An earned doctorate in Sustainability, Natural Science, Natural Resources or Environmental Management, or a related field from an accredited institution, plus five (5) years of effective performance at the Instructor level, or equivalent, including experience in curriculum development.
