Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children is well recognized as Hawaiis leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 207 beds and 66 bassinets, the nonprofit hospital is Hawaiis only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is also a tertiary care, medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency care, neonatal and pediatric air transport and childrens specialty clinics. With a dedicated team of more than 1,300 employees and 604 physicians, the hospital is home to Kapiolani Womens Center, Kapiolani Breast Center and Kapiolani Womens Cancer Center, the states only dedicated breast health and gynecological cancer centers. Kapiolani offers numerous community programs and services, such as the Kapiolani Child Protection Center and Sex Abuse Treatment Center, and through our affiliation with the University of Hawaii, we are home to the John A. Burns School of Medicine Pediatrics and OB/GYN residency programs.
The Respiratory Therapy team partners with health care professionals across the continuum of care to provide quality therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care for our patients with acute or chronic cardiopulmonary disorders. Our certified respiratory therapists are specialized in both cardiac and pulmonary nursing and medicine, and work with patients to improve lung function through exercises, special medications and the use of oxygen equipment. This experienced team incorporates evidence-based practice and state-of-the-art technologies in their practice to improve patient experience while at our hospitals and clinics.
As the Respiratory Care Director, you will bring in the leadership and vision to ensure that our hospitals and clinics provide the most advanced and effective care to patients with respiratory conditions in Hawaii. You will develop, implement and control diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory health care within the policies of Hawaii Pacific Health medical staff, including responsibility for all administrative (fiscal, personnel and operational) aspects of the department. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Respiratory Care or Health Care Administration and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC). Neonatal and Pediatric respiratory care experience. Five (5) years respiratory care management experience in a hospital or other acute care setting.
Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in Health Care Administration, or related field.
