Senior Prevention Specialist - Military Family Advocacy Program at Wahiawa

Job Description

This full-time position represents the company as on-site representative to monitor and supervise four training and education team members on military installations on the island of Oahu, HI. The Senior Prevention Specialist plans, implements and administers the services that include comprehensive community education and training preventive services related to the primary risk factors for child abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault and other maltreatment and neglect.

Job Requirements

The Senior Prevention Specialist shall have the following minimum required qualifications along with desired skills and experiences:

• A Masters degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology or related field from an accredited institution
• Three years of professional experience in domestic violence prevention, education or intervention services – prefer candidates that have strong understanding and experience with theory and practice of family violence prevention, including evidence-based practices and curriculum development
• One year supervisory experience - strong leadership/management/organizational skills and experience preferred.
• Two years experience in military lifestyle through personal and/or professional experience with military personnel and military family members - someone who has in depth understanding about the military culture and the Command structure is highly preferred
• Demonstrated effective and dynamic oral presentation and facilitation skills
• Experience with computers including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point and Access, to perform basic word processing, telecommunications, database management, online data entry, spreadsheets, developing marketing material, e-mail and Internet access.

In addition, we are seeking someone that brings positive energy, is proactive, and passionate about family violence prevention education in a military community.  Also needs extensive community networking and marketing experience as this position requires active collaboration with various stakeholders.
