Risk Assessment Officer at Honolulu

Job Description

OVERALL PURPOSE: Under the direction of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Assessment Manager, the ERM Assessment Officer confers with and maintains ongoing working relationship with assigned line management to develop/define organizational self assessment metrics, identify potential risks, monitor risks, and develop corrective steps to address the risks. In addition, this position is responsible for demonstrating the Excellence in Sales/Service (ESS) philosophy by participating in and practicing ESS disciplines and behaviors.

  • Works with line management and ERM Assessment Manager to advise, facilitate and conduct risk assessment exercises.
  • Creates / maintains technical infrastructure required to support the Risk Assessment process. Produces all relevant Operational Risk reports for management and risk specialists.
  • Assists the ERM Assessment Manager with the annual risk assessment process as well as periodic process or system-specific risk assessments.
  • Monitors outstanding risk issues and action plans to ensure timely resolution / completion.
  • Compiles enterprise-wide risk information for various reports to line management and various committees.
  • Performs analysis across various information sources (loss data, KRIs, etc.) to proactively identify potential areas of weakness or concern. Provides reporting and recommendations to management.
  • Analyzes risk assessment findings, evaluates risk position and recommends mitigation alternatives to line management.
  • Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Five (5)or more years in one/combination of the following areas; risk assessment, credit risk management, internal audit, system or process design
  • Technical Skills: Project management; database usage skills;
  • Other Job Qualifications: Strong interpersonal skills/able to work with all levels of management/ employees; strong analytical; "quick read" relative to organizational processes/dynamics; influence skills; excellent verbal and written communication/listening skills
