Job Description

Provide technical and military training for officer and enlisted personnel of the U.S. and allied navies temporarily assigned for training in Fleet Concentration Areas.


Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities: 
  • Train Naval personnel within the Engineering or Firefighting communities 
  • Maintain high personal standards of technical knowledge 
  • Demonstrate professional competence in delivering training material
  • Maintain military core value, standards and protocol 
  • Provide Podium and Lab instructional and administrative support for one or more of the following courses:
    • 400 Hz Motor Generator Electrical System Maintenance
    • Machinery Repairman Class C School Advanced Milling
    • Machinery Repairman Class C School Advanced Machinery Repair Pipeline
    • Electronic Automatic Boiler Controls Maintenance Electronic Automatic Boiler Controls Console Operator Electronic Auxiliary Control System Equipment Maintenance Electrical Control Devices
    • Machinery Repairman Class C School Heavy Machinery
    • Machinery Repairman Class C School Heat Treatment of Metals
    • York 236fa Centrifugal Air Conditioning System Operation and Maintenance
    • Machinery Repairman Class C School Precision Grinding Propulsion Alarm and Indicating Systems Maintenance Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Technician Advanced Welding
    • Advanced Shipboard Fire Fighting
    • Shipboard Aircraft Fire Fighting


Experience

  • Minimum 8 years military or civil service experience. 
  • Minimum 3 years instructional experience within the Naval Engineering/Firefighting Communities.


Qualifications

Must be capable of providing documentation supporting current or former course instructor qualifications for one or more of the courses listed below having a minimum of 3 years instructional experience:

  • 400 Hz Motor Generator Electrical System Maintenance
  • Machinery Repairman Class C School Advanced Milling
  • Machinery Repairman Class C School Advanced Machinery Repair Pipeline
  • Electronic Automatic Boiler Controls Maintenance Electronic Automatic Boiler Controls Console 
  • Operator Electronic Auxiliary Control System Equipment Maintenance Electrical Control Devices
  • Machinery Repairman Class C School Heavy Machinery
  • Machinery Repairman Class C School Heat Treatment of Metals
  • York 236fa Centrifugal Air Conditioning System Operation and Maintenance
  • Machinery Repairman Class C School Precision Grinding Propulsion Alarm and Indicating Systems
  • Maintenance Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Technician Advanced Welding

Requirements:
  • Minimum 8 years military or civil service experience 
  • Navy NEC 9502 or the equivalent
  • Possess valid Driver’s License or other ID
  • Must be able to effectively perform in a military background
  • Possess familiarity with organization, Navy rank structure, knowledge of navy shipboard and military terminology
  • Physically capable of performing all related instructional performance objectives associated with designated course of instruction
